I want to convert ONLY the footnotes with letter marks, into endnotes. There are two types of custom mark: numerals and letters. I have a Word doc with lots of footnotes that are all custom marks, none automatically numbered. Select the notes you want to convert, then right-click. To convert one or two footnotes to endnotes: 1. Depending on the situation, you can use any of the above methods to get rid of footnotes and endnotes. You can also right-click on the footnote itself, select Go to Footnote, then delete the number from there. To delete a footnote, all you have to do is remove the number from the body and it will disappear automatically. To place an endnote, go to the References tab and select Insert. Endnotes appear at the end of the document. A footnote appears at the bottom of the page containing its reference number. The only difference between the two is where these elements appear in the document. Microsoft Word generates both footnotes and endnotes. You can also change footnotes to endnotes and vice versa.
